Als wir gestern in der 200.000 Einwohnerstadt „Punta Arenas“ in der Magellanstrasse ankamen, war unser erster Eindruck nicht der Beste. Dieser erste Eindruck täuschte, als wir dann später das Stadtzentrum besichtigten, denn Punta Arenas wirkte ausgesprochen sauber (kein Wunder wenn regelmässig der Sturm in Orkanstärke fegt) und freundlich.
Unser Ausflug führte uns dann auch zuerst auf die 40 km entfernte „Isla Magdalena“ mit der letzten Chance unsere geliebten Pinguine zu beobachten (Nein Greti, wir werden dir keinen mitnehmen!).
Mit der wirklich alten Fähre erreichten wir die kleine Insel, welche ausser Pinguinen und Vögel nur von einem jungen Forschungsmitarbeiter bewohnt wird, welcher Pinguine zählt (kein Spass!).
Haben wir bisher etwa Pinguine falsch geschrieben?
Wir sahen sie wirklich zahlreich, unsere kleinen Freunde….
…und auch unzählige Vögel..
…aber am Schönsten ist immer noch „das Glück der Pinguine“!
Nachdem wir die Insel Magdalena wieder mit der Fähre wieder verlassen hatten….
…mußten wir in der bekannten „Shackleton-Bar“ noch einen „Pisco Sour“ probieren…
…bevor wir in den Hafen spazierten…
…um mit einem der Rettungsboote (so sehen diese orangen Rettungsboote innen aus) wieder zu unserer Luminosa gebracht zu werden.
